Project description

In our previous Visegrad project “Enhancement of journal article publication of young scientists from V4 region”, No# 11540055 – the Visegrad network for microelectronics engineering scientists (VINMES) was established. The network has been successfully used to help the scientific publication of young scientist from V4 region with organizing a special issue in journal of Periodica Polytechnica Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (PPEECS). The special issue was published containing 8 papers from 34 authors from 4 V4 countries. As a main conclusion of the previous project it was found that there is a strong need and interest for publication, support and education of publication techniques. Therefore in the frame of this project further VINMES activity will be developed.
Project objecitves includes: 1. Enhancing and supporting the scientific publication of young scientists from V4 and the surrounding countries, with a knowledge transfer about presentation techniques, article writing, and publication practices. 2. Organizing courses for them about the previous topics and preparing e-learning materials. 3. Helping the publication possibility in scientific journals (PPEECS and SSMT). 4. Supporting the PPEECS, increase the journal readability with the special issue and helping to reach the Impact Factor (IF) which is the most important indicator of journal ranking. 5. Promoting the VINMES network activities on youth conferences where the participation from V4 region is high. 6. Enhancing the cooperation between the universities, institutes and companies in the V4 region.

Regional relevance

Nowadays, an effective research cannot be carried out by a sole entity due to the lack of some necessary equipment or knowledge. This has an effect on the publications as well; the scientific community appreciates almost only the international publications, which means that the recognized scientific journals (IF) are always with international editorial board and papers. The IF is still the most important indicator of journal ranks in the international scene. Unfortunately, the amount of the IF journals, which are published in Central Europe is still small. The project realization will serve the development of young scientists and catalyze the international cooperation. Besides, it will serve the V4 region with establishing a high ranked international journal which is published here.
