This anniversary seminar was organized by Prof. Mach, Head of the Department of Electrotechnology, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Prague University of Technology, with respect to his merits for the creative development of the seminars nearly from the beginning. He organized the "25th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology" from May 11th to 14th, 2002, in the Masaryk Hostel, Prague, Czech Republic with the main subject "Quality Management and Diagnostics in Electronics Packaging".

More than 80 participants discussed about "the latest information on materials, technologies, diagnostics, quality control and concurrent engineering in this rapidly growing field". 75 contributions were printed in the proceedings (354 pages).

After the dedicated and successful steering of the seminars for more than ten years Prof. Illyefalvi-Vitez wanted to hand over the leadership. The International Steering Committee elected Prof. Wolter, Dresden University of Technology, as the new Chairman. Prof. Wolter and his co-workers have been presented many interesting papers at a high level during the last seminars.

Prof. Bauer, Dresden, continued the work of Prof. Becker as the responsible person for poster evaluation.
