The "22nd International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology" was organized by Dresden University of Technology under the chairmanship of Prof. Sauer in Treff-Hotel Freital-Dresden from May 18th to 20th, 1999, with the subject "Technology Drivers in Electronics". This was the sixth seminar in Germany. The special topics were:
83 contributions were printed in the proceedings (385 pages). The Steering Committee evaluated the talks and the poster presentations, and offered one Best Paper Award, one Excellent Paper Award, one Best Poster Award for Senior Scientists, one Best Paper Award for Young Scientists, two Excellent Poster Awards for Senior Scientists, and two Excellent Poster Awards for Yong Scientists. The winners were kindly asked to offer gifts for the next seminar awards. To give awards and individual gifts from the last seminar winners was a good tradition during the last seminars and during the following ones too.
In the "Minutes of the closing meeting of the Steering Committee" was stated: The "ISSE´99 was organized … on a very high level and nice venue. The primary aims of the Seminar" - like last year - "that is to provide an international forum … and to get together the professors of common interest from Central European countries, as well as from other European countries and overseas, has been achieved." New members were elected to the International Steering Committee: Prof. Morris, State University of New York at Binghamton, USA, and Mrs. Prof. Shoikova, Sofia University of Technology, Bulgaria.
