From May 21st to 25th, 1996, Prof. Illyefalvi-Vitez organized the "19th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology", held for the second time in Göd, Hungary. The main subject was "Technology of Circuit Modules and Electronic Systems" with 5 technical sections:

• Interconnection
• Technologies and circuit modules
• Sensors
• Superconductivity
• Diagnostics and reliability

These topics included the role and the new requirements on higher education in a changing economy.

This seminar was a breakthrough to a higher level both scientifically and organizationally. The organizer attracted many sponsors for this seminar and he collected a lot of contributions about the latest scientific and technological results. Part of papers gave interesting reflections about university education.

In the proceedings 46 contributions were published (255 pages). The well organized poster presentation completed the oral papers presentation. At the end of the seminar the International Steering Committee under the leadership of Prof. Illyefalvi-Vitez was extended from 6 to 12 members, coming from 8 countries.
