1983, Balatonfüred, Hungary
Under the scientific and organizational direction of Prof. Ambrozy the "6th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology" took place from May 10th to 13th, 1983, in Balatonfüred. The main subject was "Research and Education of Microelectronics and Technology at Universities". More than 30 participants from GDR, Hungary and Czechoslovakia discussed especially about the connection between education and research taking under consideration the needs of both the industry and the scientific institutions. The seminar was focused on the intensive exchange of experience about practical work of students at universities of Budapest, Dresden and Prague. During all discussions the laboratory of printed circuit boards was of outstanding interest. The new semiconductor lab in Budapest in cooperation with the industry was roughly excellent. The influence on curricula and their unification at different universities played an important role. 20 papers were printed in some proceedings (127 pages).
This Seminar indeed has had a great influence on the improvement and optimization of the technological education at the respective universities. It was part of the scientific program of the 200th anniversary of the foundation of Budapest University of Technology.
In a "record" the representatives of the three universities as the founding participants of this seminar made the following statement: "The 6th Seminar, oriented on research and education of microelectronics and technology at universities, was found very useful because it brought many interesting ideas and information from this field for all participants who discussed them thoroughly".
